A little care for something uniquely yours.
No two baroque pearls are exactly alike. Their uneven contours, subtle markings, and individual glow are part of their natural character. Gentle care helps preserve their beauty—and the jewelry that holds them.
Get to Know Your Pearls
Baroque describes a pearl’s irregular shape. Freshwater describes the environment in which it grows.
Our freshwater baroque pearls are cultured pearls, grown in freshwater mussels rather than manufactured imitation beads. Shape, size, tone, surface texture, and luster can vary from pearl to pearl, including within a pair of earrings.
Small ridges, dimples, or growth marks may be natural characteristics. If you notice a crack, a sharp damaged edge, or a loose component, please contact us so we can assess it.
Last On, First Off
Put your jewelry on after applying perfume, skincare, makeup, and hairspray. Allow these products to dry before your jewelry touches your skin.
Take your jewelry off before showering, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or doing household cleaning. Keep it away from chlorine, detergents, and other chemicals.
Clean Gently
After wearing, gently wipe your jewelry with a soft, clean cloth to remove surface oils and residue.
If needed, use a cloth lightly dampened with plain lukewarm water. Do not soak the jewelry. Allow it to dry fully at room temperature before storing it.
Do not use ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, abrasive brushes, toothpaste, vinegar, alcohol, or silver-dip solutions on your pearl jewelry.
Use a plain, non-abrasive cloth rather than a chemically treated polishing cloth on pearls or plated surfaces.
Care for the Metal, Too
Please check each product page for its specific materials. A 925 sterling silver ear post does not mean the entire earring is sterling silver; other components may be copper or plated metal.
Avoid moisture, friction, and chemical exposure to help care for metal finishes. Plating may gradually change with wear, and the rate varies with use, care, and individual skin chemistry.
Handle earrings by their metal fittings rather than pulling on pearls, chains, or decorative drops.
A Note on Silver Ear Posts
Sterling silver ear posts are relatively soft and may bend under pressure.
If a post is only slightly bent, it may be possible to gently ease it back into alignment. Avoid repeated bending or using force. If it is sharply bent, cracked, or feels unstable, stop and contact us before attempting an adjustment.
Store with Space
Keep each piece separately in a soft pouch or a fabric-lined jewelry box to reduce tangling and scratches.
Store away from direct sunlight, heat, bathrooms, and very dry environments. Make sure jewelry is dry before putting it away, and avoid leaving pearls sealed in plastic for long-term storage.
If your jewelry arrives in a protective plastic bag, you can use a soft pouch or lined box for everyday storage.
Check Before Wearing
Occasionally check ear posts, backs, clasps, and connections. If a pearl or fitting feels loose, stop wearing the piece and contact us before it becomes detached.
